In March 2026, drones set fire to a building in the UNESCO-listed historic centre<a href=\"about:blank#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a>. And yet, a few weeks before the first strike, <a href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mediterranean_Shipping_Company\"><u>MSC<\/u><\/a> \u2013 the world\u2019s largest shipping company \u2013 purchased 25% of the Mostyska rail terminal<a href=\"about:blank#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\">[3]<\/a>, 30 kilometres away. As the Vienna <a href=\"https:\/\/www.idm.at\/\"><u>IDM<\/u><\/a> noted during a conference held at Ivan Franko University in Lviv in May 2026: \u2018Europe in 2026 is shaped by nostalgia. For Ukraine, enlargement is not a matter of history. It is a strategic choice made under conditions of war\u2019<a href=\"about:blank#_ftn4\" name=\"_ftnref4\">[4]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This statement sums up the fact that Lviv is not waiting for peace to join Europe but is building its European identity amidst the bombs.
