{"id":67466,"date":"2019-04-15T22:30:03","date_gmt":"2019-04-15T20:30:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/geab.eu\/fiche-danticipation-politique-la-division-rurale-urbaine\/"},"modified":"2021-12-16T20:40:49","modified_gmt":"2021-12-16T19:40:49","slug":"political-anticipation-notes-the-rural-urban-divide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/geab.eu\/en\/political-anticipation-notes-the-rural-urban-divide\/","title":{"rendered":"Political Anticipation Notes: The rural\/urban divide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Rural and urban lifestyles have always been different and, clearly, where you live is just one of many divides that affect our societies.\u00a0 But this divide is one that has been changing over the years and where a crunch is likely to hit with consequences for politics, economics and society.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The basic trends<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What is new is that, globally, the majority of people now live in cities (55%) and the numbers living in cities are projected to grow by a further 2.5 billion people between now and 2050<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a> (up to 68%).
