The new technology hubs

Emerging markets stand out for their adaptability and technological dynamism. These markets are particularly invested in fintech, e-commerce and e-health. They are focusing on forward-looking sectors to prepare for the economy of tomorrow. An even more digitised economy, where artificial intelligence and robotics will have taken over every part of our society, and therefore every sector. In Africa, for example, companies such as Flutterwave in Nigeria and MPesa in Kenya are facilitating access to banking services for millions of unbanked people. In South-East Asia, e-commerce companies such as Tokopedia in Indonesia and Shopee in Singapore are expanding rapidly thanks to their technophilic populations, particularly among younger people. In the healthcare sector, Dr Consulta in Brazil, for example, is making healthcare more accessible via digital solutions. These countries are also attracting the world’s biggest companies, as in Malaysia, where multinationals such as Amazon, Google and Nvidia are hiring thousands of employees.
