The School of the Future, a Cognitive Fitness Centre

VISION

If we are talking about training super-collaborators, super-teachers and super-students, it is time to address the issue of the framework for this super-community and the school, which must obviously reinvent itself in an even broader context that we have decided to anchor in the social issue of mental health.

Fitness centres are places where we learn to maintain bodies that machines have made less essential to our survival. What if school were the place where we learn to maintain brains that AI has made less essential to collective survival? Wouldn’t this new premise be the perfect driver for reinventing schools and our teaching methods? Certainly yes.

Students, teachers, employees… brains in distress for everyone

Although the explosion of mental illness among young people[1] is a particularly pressing concern, this problem actually affects all generations and socio-professional categories and this observation is likely to strengthen a common motivation to better understand the root causes of the problem and find solutions together. In reality, this crisis is not directly linked to the advent of AI, as burnout in the workplace[2] and at school has been steadily increasing for many years. Covid19 marked a turning point in the worsening of the problem and its spread to young people, and AI is once again both bringing us to rock bottom and providing us with the tools to solve it.
