Towards a new tech-feudalism: the five castes of post-industrial society, according to the GEAB

After almost 20 years of anticipating the collapse of the Western-centric system, the GEAB now feels it has a duty to continue to identify the crises in the making, but also to describe the emerging model. If anticipation is the history of the short- to medium-term future, this article is a sociology exercise of the medium- to long-term future.

For some time now, and particularly since the arrival of generative AI in the form of ChatGPT / DeepSeek, our team has been seeing the emergence of a global society in which we can distinguish a very specific caste system that we have decided to put forward for your consideration.

Lords: The vision masters

At the top of this new social pyramid sit the ‘lords’, emblematic figures of technological capitalism. Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook and other billionaire visionaries, as well as sovereign states such as China, dictate the direction of a hyper-connected world in the shape of a global brain, with multi-planet humanity (for Elon Musk), eternal life (for Peter Thiel) or Chinese-style socialism (for China) as the ultimate objectives, justifying all mobilisations. Their strategy is based on capturing all the instruments of power (money, souls, data, energy, technologies) in order to shape their vision of the future.
