Agricultural Transition 2030: Climate is coming down to Earth

Agriculture is bad. Cow farts and meat are not good for the climate[1]; animals suffer; not only do farmers use too many pesticides, but they also get too much money from the EU and are destroying the Amazonian lungs of the planet;  more humans need to be fed and prices for food items are going through the roof… In 2020 the EU Commission responded through its Farm to Fork strategy: “We need to redesign our food systems which today account for nearly one-third of global GHG emissions, consume large amounts of natural resources, result in biodiversity loss and negative health impacts (due to both under- and over-nutrition) and do not allow fair economic returns and livelihoods for all actors, in particular for primary producers”[2].
